We decided to check out Sunnybrook Farms. Seemed like a neat place for the kids to go. It was right in the city, there was animals there, lots of farm equipment to check out, has a playground and a few heritage homes and barns to check out. It was also by donation to get in so it made it a pretty cheap outing.
We went on a da y where nothing was happening so it wasnt very exciting. But we had fun just 'checkin it out'.
We played on the playground for a bit first then went and checked out the animals. Kael had a hard time focusing on anything else but all the tractors!!!! He had no interest in the animals at all even though I promised that wed be going to see all the farming equipment next. Naveah however loved the animals and Jacek seemed fairly fond of them too.
Finally we got to go see all the old tractors. There were SO MANY! It was a little disappointing though that there were signs everywhere saying you couldnt even SIT on them. It was so hard for Kael not to climb every single one! He wanted to go look and touch and figure out how it all worked. He was in his element for sure.
The houses we looked in were pretty neat. I alwasy find it interesting to see the set up houses used to be. Bedrooms on everyfloor, or all on the top. There seemed to be no sense of logic at all. Rooms were just stuck where ever there was space. I love the creeky floors and the attic bedrooms. And especially the old fashioned stoves!!!
Afterwards we headed off to the Tasty Bakery for some lunch and headed to Rotary park for a picnic and more park playing. It was a gorgeous day.
