Ive Got Beautiful Kids!

Well its always an adventure when you've got toddlers. They are SO busy these days. Naveah is spitting words out like shes known them forever. Some of her new ones are "uh-oh, nana, moe-moe aka Zo-Zo(tom and suzannes dog),Ba-pa, Dada, Mama, bubye, dit-dat aka Kitty Kat". I was SO not expecting her to talk yet because Kael still is behind compaired to other kids his age. Shes really good at motoring around now and challenges the stairs on an hourly basis. She gets half way up before she realizes whats shes done and then just crys out because she is too scared to get back down. She is my opposite of Kael. She does everything he didn't. Shes loud, shes opinionated, shes demanding, she gets into the cupboards, puts everything in her mouth and is very VERY cheaky. Thats not to say that I dont love her to bits though. I could do nothing but giggle at her the other day when I went looking for her and found her sitting in the pantry chowing down on a bag of cheerios! (remind you of a particular cookie monster Mom and Dad?) I love that she just 'helps herself' when im taking 'too long'.

Kael is our engineer, our peacemaker and our entertainer. The room is always so happy when he is in it. Even when im not in the best of moods and just having a hard time dealing, he just seems to know. As I sit down and try to re-group he comes up to me and with a huge smile on his face says "hi!, hug?" and then wraps his little arms around me. I cant help but do everything to love him back when he does stuff like that. I love watching his brain work away as he tries to figure out how to put back together a toy that fell apart. I love his sudden out bursts of laughter-just because. Right now he is into movies. He loves watching movies! He lets me know when its time by going and getting a blanket, crawling up on the couch and tucking in every toe then points to the TV and says "moo-ee?". His favorite right now believe it or not is NOT Cars, though he would still choose it in a heart beat given the option, but one called "Fly me to the Moon". Its about these 3 little flies that make astronaut suits and fly to the moon on a rocket with the human astronauts. Its pretty cute.
Everyday with kids proves to be a trying one. But their little personalities are such a blessing.
I love you Kael and Naveah.

Wedding Bells.

I did Hair for a friend of a friends wedding the beginning of July. They looked awesome! Wish I had more pics but this is all I could get before the all needed to get going. I did The Bride and 3 brides maids.

Camping + Exploring = Dinosaurs.

I Love Summer. Have I ever told you that? I live for summer, I crave it, I dream about it! I get so excited the first day its says its going to be +20C. Even better if it creeps into the 30's. Our adventurous life begins every year around this time. Road trips/ Day trips, Camping, Picnics, Splash parks, The Zoo, Holidays and oh so much more. This past Canada Day we took the kids for their first camping trip of the season. We headed to Jarvis Bay (by Sylvan Lake and Red Deer) and camped for 2 nights, though I wish it could have been longer. The kids had a blast. And they slept beautifully! (I know I can hardly believe it too!) When we got there and started to set up we realized that we forgot Naveah's playpen so we had nothing for her to sleep in! We headed into town, Sylvan Lake, and browsed around to see what we could find. There wasnt much success. No where had anything that we needed. She is still to squirmy to sleep on those tiny kid sized air mattress'. I thought it was hopeless until I saw a store with a bunch of 'blow up' displays outsite. A DINGY! Perfect. So we bought Naveah her own little boat and she slept in that! Considering Kaels first bed was a laundry basket, I thought this was right on track.
The kids had so much fun camping. Naveah was having fun digging up all kinds of yummies she could find that may have been left behind by the last campers and getting her face as dirty as possible. Kael was our little explorer. It was hard for him to be confined to that little space when there was a whole campground to explore! One night the kids were getting restless just hanging out at the site so I took them for a walk while Evan stayed behind and made supper. We walked along the paths all the way down to the back of the campground and walked along the cliffs above the Lake. (dont worry it was fenced!) Naveah kept pretty quiet in her stroller. Im sure the vibrations from the stroller going over all the sticks and rocks was pretty soothing for her. Kael ran in front and behind me pointing things out and shouting at things that he saw. "sick!", "wock!", "wAder", "tweE"!!! the one that took me by suprise was "DIO-SORE!!!!". I halted and turned..."where!!!! you see a dinosaur!? where is it Kael!?" To which he proceeded to point up high into the trees saying "dio-sore". I said back to him, "we better get going quick so he doesn't see us. You keep look out for dino's and let me know if you see anymore". We continued to walk along and Kael trailed along behind me. I asked him again, "did you find anymore dinosaurs?". He stopped and looked around. Nope not yet. So we carried along. Then suddenly I hear him shouting again "dio-saur!!!" I turned and looked down. There he was squatting down poking at a tree root that was sticking out of the ground". You cant get much cuter than that!
I dont think we will get a chance to go again before we go on vacation in August and im SO looking forward to it. I love watching the kids explore and discover. Kael is at an age now where his imagination is thriving and what comes out of his mouth sometimes just kills me. And Naveah feeds off of it. I see her learning so much faster than Kael did because she has him as an example. They make me so proud.
