Summer Ramblings pt.1

We've done lots of little trips here and there. We are loving living in Red Deer this summer, there is SO much to do! Weve gone and played at Discovery Canyon a few times. The kids love it. Its a man made 'waterslide' that you can tube down and there is a little beach area as well and Its all done with river water. So, aside from totally smelling like river water when you leave its a pretty great time.

Gull Lake we go to on a regular basis. Sylvan Lake is much closer, but the water has gotten so high there that there is no actual beach for the kids to play on. The kids absolutely LOVE going to Gull and ask on a daily basis if we will be going there that day. Its an easy day trip. Pack a lunch and off we go! This particular trip totally pooped everyone out and when we got home everyone cuddled up in our bed for some movie watching.

Drumheller is a yearly trip for us. Its been especially fun the last 2 years with Naveah being SO fond of dinosaurs. She was totally excited to see all the huge dinos. We discovered that they have a pretty fantastic outdoor playground at the museum there as well! So after a run around the museum we let the kids tire out more at the playground, then whiped them out at the splash park afterwards. They crashed as soon as we had to go home. And if it wasnt for the rediculous hail storm that blew in as soon as we were leaving it would have been a pretty smooth ride home!

smiled watching him. He was SO excited and was laughing
uncontrollably.

We made a trip in to Calgary to see a friend who came up to visit from Kelowna! Spent the day at the spray park in New Brighton. They spent most of their time playing in the sand for the volleyball court....NOT the water. And wow was it a hot day!

Naveah got into a play make-up kit. Nice.

We've spent a lot of time with Bethany and her family this summer. Taking turns bringing the kids over to eachothers places and having them just terrorize the backyards. Theyve had so much fun together. Kael loved being able to take a ride on their quad. And it was especially fun to watch Beth instigate a water fight with them. 4 against 1. Good show.
