The Garbage Pail Kid

*Warning...may contain traces of poop*
My little Naveah will eat just about everything. She is the child they warn you about. The one that you have to watch every second in case that tiny spec of something you didnt think was there makes it way into her tiny pincher fingers and then into her tiny little mouth. I dont know how many times a day I pull something out of her mouth. I Vacuum--A LOT. I pick up crumbs that fall, I pick up any sock fuzz that makes it way out of the sock and onto the carpet and I check every toy to see how much effort it takes to pull off those tiny little pieces. And still, she manages to eat....something.
I know all babies chew on whatever you put in their hands, but a lot of babies will still spit out something that really tastes discusting. Well, not Naveah. I didnt realize how bad it was until I changed one of her poopy diapers. There, settled into the middle of it all, was a bright teal piece of foam. At first I was confused. "did that come out of you? or did you some how manage to get that in your diaper from scooting around the floor?". It did infact, go in one end, and out the other. It scared me at the thought of her eating something like that without me knowing. She could have choked on that and I wouldnt have known! Greatful to say, I have not found anymore 'stuff' in Naveahs poopy diapers.
We spent a lot of time outside this past weekend and therefore, Naveah spent a lot of time on the grass. I didnt turn around for more than 2 seconds before this girl had a hunk of dried up mud chunks in her mouth...."Naveah! those are NOT cookies!". I picked through the lawn and found as many chunks as I could and threw them over the fence. I turned back around. There she sat, guilty as can be, her legs crossed and her holding onto one of her big toes and rocking back and forth as if saying "i've done nothing wrong mommy". But the evidence was sticking out of her mouth. Grass. Thats right, she was now picking the grass and eating it and she had pieces of it sticking every which way out of firmly pressed lips. I think I got it all out.

So now I wonder, what now! I stand her up and give her a car to push around thinking that maybe her playing with something might help. I watched for a few minutes then got back to picking around the garden. I constantly peek over my shoulder to make sure she wasnt getting into anymore trouble. It didn't appear so. Little did I know that Kael had hidden wood chips in the seat of the car and Naveah very slyly was picking them out from the seat and shoving them in her mouth.
Amoung the other things Ive pulled from her mouth; Rocks, carpet lint, dryer lint, sock lint, thread (that was already half way down her throat!), paper/cardboard, toys, bugs, stickers, electrical tape, bits of wire, soap and numerous other questionable items. Ive even caught this girl pulling diapers out of the diaper pail and trying to fit them in her mouth....(yes im just as grossed out as you are right now).
Naveah is my child that will keep me on my toes forever I think. I doesnt matter how well I clean this house, she always always always, finds something to put in her mouth.
Who needs a dog, when you can have a Naveah?

I totally feel ya. I found a closed safety pin in Berkley's mouth today. What the heck? Where do they find that stuff?
