For Mothers day I got reassurance--Even though are days are still out numbered by the bad ones right now, A new kind of calm is making its way into our house. We are staying at home a lot these days and im really enjoying just being with the kids. Cranky or not. I feel like im 'getting to know them' all over again. Regarless of what kind of day its been I know Im doing the best that I can, and that seems good enough for them.
On Thursday (7th) I woke up and went to get Kael from his room. As I sat there with him for a few minutes I decided, why not potty train? So there I decided that it was the day to start. I figured that we werent going anywhere anyways, and even if if didnt go okay, that would be okay and I can try again another day. Things didnt start off too well. the first hour of the day, which seemed like 5 hours, I was wiping up 'uh ohs' all over the floor and once my couch! It was then I decided to pull out the jelly beans. I put Kael on the potty and told him that he can have a candy if he goes pee in the potty, and not the floor. It took a couple tries but he soon got it. As soon as he had his first jelly bean he was going every 10 minutes (we went through a LOT of jelly beans that day). Day 2 things got way better. We only had 2 accidents and one of them involved...the other stuff. Day 3 was amazing! We only had 1 accident, again, not the wet kind. Sunday, Mothers Day, was our first venture out of the house. We had a family brunch to go to at the Legion. (We go every year). Kael did awesome. No accidents and used the potty at least 10 times. He had so much fun there running around the dance floor with all the other little kids, and he even got to take a ride in Uncle Chris' Mustang! After brunch we went and ventured around Sunnyside Garden Centre. Its now 2pm and we are Accident free! The rest of the day went smoothly. We only had one accident late in the evening and I take full resposibilty for it as I should have taken him to the washroom but I thought he was 'faking' it. Turns out, he wasnt. Amazing. My little Boy has become a little Man. A great Mothers Day gift.
Along with that, Evan has finally gotten me my hibiscus plants!!! Ive only been asking for one for about 4 years now. They are gorgeous. My little miss Naveah was a perfect little angel and never complained once that day. It wasnt a bad day, if I say so myself.
I feel so blessed to be able to take care of and love these little people. They bring so much excitement into our lives and everyday is a new experience. I look forward to forever with them.
Happy Mothers Day to you all.
