Slow Down!

SLOW DOWN! Thats exactly what people are telling me to do. But I just cant. This is a crazy time of year for us and I dont typically start breathing again until Kaels Birthday is over. (January). Sorry its been so long since my last post but it is for good reason! October, is the start of my busy season. Its filled with birthdays, holidays, planning and just pure craziness! So lets back track a little.

My Birthday, October 27th. I had a little get together with some of my girlfriends and we went to Phoenix Grill for dinner followed by a movie at the cheap theatres. It was a pretty fun night. Thank you Stef, Trina, Chelsea and Charlotte for making my night so fun!!!

Since thanksgiving we've also kept ourselves busy with baking cookies, carving pumpkins, making halloween costumes and helping Kaels friend Makenna celerate her birthday! We made her some cute jammies and a matching bracelet.

The kids had a lot of fun on Halloween going out trick or treating. It was an incredibly challenging day though to say the least. The kids were tired and cranky and seemed to know the amount of sugar that was in the house. They refused to eat anything healthy that day. They would just keep pointing at the pantry repeating the word "twreeet?". They wouldnt even eat the home made pizza I made for dinner! I was about ready to call off halloween all together but as soon as we got them out of the house they were fine. Im sure it had something to do with the growing bags of candy they were collecting! Kael was 'Super Why' aka Wyatt from the show Super Why, and Naveah was 'Upsy Daisy', a character from the show 'In the Night Garden'. I hand made their entire costumes!
Thanx to Nana, Papa, Aunty Wendy, "Apple Juice", and Kali for sharing the night with us!

After halloween It was Nana Jevne's Birthday. I spend 3 days straight working on her birthday present. I made her a patchwork quilt with the 'Flower Fairies' fabric. Im a little proud of myself I must say. It was my first quilt and it turned out pretty amazing. Thank you Evan for helping so much with the kids while I got this done. Im so glad I was able to make something for you Suzanne that is so special to you.

Much more has happened since then as well. Trips to the mall, baking more cookies and muffins with the kids, craft fairs, visits with good friends, the start of Christmas and present making, and taking on WAY more than I should. Like deciding to renovate our Master suite in the middle of all the chaos and plotting out another bedroom make over for Kael! The bathroom I have just completed, for the most part and it looks awesome! I can wait to get the rest of the room done. I also have started decorating the house in Christmassy cheer. I hung the christmas lights and wreath, put up stockings and made a spot for some mistletoe. The tree will be going up soon!!!

On top of this we decided to toss in a few more things...The kids have just started their swimming lessons! They are in a class together which makes for a fun family evening. Naveah seemed to do better than Kael but we'll see what happens as they progress.
We also need to work in Family Pictures, a trip to Magrath for Louise and Trevors wedding (coming up pretty quickly!), baking Christmas cookies and much much more! As much as this time is a struggle to stay on top of things and not get stressed over it, I love all the stuff I have to do. It keeps me busy and makes me happy to do things for my family and friends. I cant wait for the Christmas season to take over. I look forward to taking the kids out to check out the Christmas lights, to go and see the Nativity Pageant, visit with Family, and eat WAY to much turkey. Hopefully somewhere in there I can fit in a small Christmas party for friends!
