Kael was more than excited to get to start preschool AND a nature program this past school year.
He started the nature program not long after we moved here at the Kerry Wood Nature center. He loves it and hes grown so much since he started. He gets to do a little bit of everything there. Arts and crafts, games, playing with toys, learning about animals and nature. They spend the last half of the class outside.
Not long after he started there we got a call from the preschool I was trying to get him into saying that they had a spot for him open up. So we decided to try it. It was another thing he very much enjoyed.
He finished up his classes this past June and asks me all the time if its time to go back to school yet! I had him and Naveah registered to start classes at the preschool this coming September but have recently decided that Kerry Wood is more beneficial for my kids. So I will be putting them back into the Nature program in November.
Kael misses the cut off for Kindergarden here by only 16 days so thats why he'll still be in 'preschooling' next year as well. Making him one of the oldest in his classes.
Here are some pics of his school end performance. He was SO happy that Evan was able to stop by for it. He was glowing when he saw him standing there. Once it was over and all the kids were told to sit down, Kael, remained standing. When his teacher Mrs. Bones asked him to please sit down he happily announced "THATS MY DAD!" and pointed in his direction. Im sure Evan loved his moment of fame!
For his semester end at the Kerry Wood they had a picnic lunch at Fort Normandeau. (a local heritage site). As an added bonus for Kael, his Grama and Grampa Powell were able to come along!
Kael is getting older and older by the minute. He blows me away sometimes with the things he knows. I look at him now and still have a hard time believing that just 4 years ago he was brand new to this world! I hope he hangs onto his eagerness to learn throughout all his school years.
