Jevne vs. Cyr

We got to go on our first camping trip in two years this past May long weekend! We also finally got to try out our Tent trailer that we bought last year. The kids were so excited to go and even more excited when I told them that their friends Summerlyn and Brendan would be joining us!
Heres the new camper...It has a mini fridge, furnace, stereo, sink, 3rd pop out, 2 queen bed and 1 double. And it came with a portable toilet which came in handy when youre camping with little kids!!!

K & N's bed.

The 3rd pop out is a genius idea!

Beth and I went to Red Lodge campground the Monday before to reserve a site so as to make sure we would have one. Then we got this silly idea in our heads that it would be a GOOD idea to head up there on Thursday with all our children and without our husbands! 6 Kids, 2 Moms and an entire campsite to set up for a total of 12 people sounds like a great time to me!!!...or not. Honestly the first two days were a write off and Beth and I were both about ready to pack up, call it quits and hand the kids off to the highest bidders. But come Saturday morning things began to improve. Thank goodness.

Our campsite

this campsite was huge! it even had enough room for a tent, 2 campers,
a 'dining room' tent, 3 huge picnic tables, and 6 full sized trucks!

the 'dining tent' aka Party Shack.
There wasnt a whole ton of excitement to this camping trip. We didnt do much but hang around the campsite cause there wasnt much to do around there and we weren't allowed to have campfires. But thats not to say we didnt have any fun. The kids had so much fun playing together, throwing anything they found on the ground at one another, fighting, laughing, crafting and building pretend fire pits everywhere. It really is amazing how long kids can play if you just let them loose in the forest! Naveah wins the award on the Dirtiest Kid competition. There was no doubt in my mind that she is related to Oscar the Grouch. Within seconds of her waking up in the morning she blended right in to the outdoor decor. Kael was very much in his element. I cant even explain to you how much this kid loves being outsite. The whole process of camping is amazing to him and he is already whining on when he can go again!

On Sunday we decided to take a venture to Dickson Dam in Glennifer Lake. The biggest adventure of the day was just finding the place! We were pretty much led on a wild goose chase and over an hour later, we found it....only 30kms from where we started. Haha. We didnt stick around long cause it was pretty cold and windy, but we did manage to sneak in some Fishing! Kael got some lessons from Clayton, Beths husband, and his Brother Chase and Naveah got her lessons from Summerlyn!

It really was such a fun weekend and I cant wait to take the kids again!

Just a Day at the Park

On our way home from driving Grama to the airport we stopped in at the Red Lodge Campground in Bowden to 'scope it out' for an upcoming camping trip with some friends. It turned out to be a lot nicer than I had expected a campground to look in Alberta! We stuck around for a bit after a drive through so the kids could get out of the truck and stretch their legs and play at the park. It was so nice to just get out and relax on a nice warm sunny day! and HOLY my kids are SO CUTE!!!!!!!

Hello Grama!

My Mom came up for a quick visit and I was SO grateful!!!
The kids loved having her here and they were slightly spoiled. (so was I...it was so nice to finally catch up on some sleep!) The time seemed very short lived though and before we new it it was time to take her back to the airport.
But we still managed to get lots done. Most of the laundry had been tackled while she was here. There were also walks, trips to the park, movie watching, lunches and ice cream treats! Naveah had tons of fun playing a game with Grama on her computer and from what I saw she was pretty good at it! They also loved reading books with her before bedtime and waking her up first in the morning (rather than me). *snicker.
Jacek didnt stand a chance against Grama snuggles and I was completely robbed of him as soon as she got here. Jacek now has some new behavior that ive been adjusting to since Grama was here! He surprisingly sleeps much better -- and he freaks out if he can't have some of our ice cream cones! Dont mistake this as complaining...the sleeping better at night completely counter acts the new ice cream addiction.

All in all it was a great visit and Im so glad the kids had fun with her and got some snuggles in the Grama blanket. I only wish I remembered to take more pictures! Oh well, we are looking forward to another visit from her and Grampa in June!!!

We Love you Grama Pow-Whoa!

Mothers Day?

For mothers day I got:
No sleep and 3 cranky kids, one with fever and a brand new tooth!
a cranky- but trying to be helpful- Husband
tantrums, screaming and fighting
a trip to the emergency room
and a fun filled evening full of meltdowns
Would I have it any other way? absolutely!!!!
But then it wouldnt be as memorable.
♥ to my big little family ♥

Kael did NOT want to take a picture with me....Its quite obvious from the first pictures...I had to tickle him to get even the slightest grin. Little Stinker. Naveah was surprisingly all for the pictures!!! And Jacek was more concerned with what everyone else was doing....

Funny Faces

How do you keep the kids happy while you wait with them in the truck while Daddy takes too long in Canadian Tire? Easy!!!! Camera + Funny faces = Fun times!!! This sort of happened by accident. I simply turned around to take a picture of the kids and Kael pulled a face like this....

Nice hey? My laughter was Que for them to continue on...This is what happened....

whats a funny face without a finger in the nose!?

This one makes me laugh. She looks SO much like Daddy here! haha.

its amazing that its such a silly picture, but he still looks so handsome!

I loved hearing their shrills of laughter as they showed eachother the funny faces they were doing. Naveah would try to mimic Kael and he would coach her on how to do it. I would take their picture then theyd want to see it. Id show them and they giggle away all over again. It was just so fun to watch. It was the best boring wait in the parking lot ive ever had!
