Jevne vs. Cyr

We got to go on our first camping trip in two years this past May long weekend! We also finally got to try out our Tent trailer that we bought last year. The kids were so excited to go and even more excited when I told them that their friends Summerlyn and Brendan would be joining us!
Heres the new camper...It has a mini fridge, furnace, stereo, sink, 3rd pop out, 2 queen bed and 1 double. And it came with a portable toilet which came in handy when youre camping with little kids!!!

K & N's bed.

The 3rd pop out is a genius idea!

Beth and I went to Red Lodge campground the Monday before to reserve a site so as to make sure we would have one. Then we got this silly idea in our heads that it would be a GOOD idea to head up there on Thursday with all our children and without our husbands! 6 Kids, 2 Moms and an entire campsite to set up for a total of 12 people sounds like a great time to me!!!...or not. Honestly the first two days were a write off and Beth and I were both about ready to pack up, call it quits and hand the kids off to the highest bidders. But come Saturday morning things began to improve. Thank goodness.

Our campsite

this campsite was huge! it even had enough room for a tent, 2 campers,
a 'dining room' tent, 3 huge picnic tables, and 6 full sized trucks!

the 'dining tent' aka Party Shack.
There wasnt a whole ton of excitement to this camping trip. We didnt do much but hang around the campsite cause there wasnt much to do around there and we weren't allowed to have campfires. But thats not to say we didnt have any fun. The kids had so much fun playing together, throwing anything they found on the ground at one another, fighting, laughing, crafting and building pretend fire pits everywhere. It really is amazing how long kids can play if you just let them loose in the forest! Naveah wins the award on the Dirtiest Kid competition. There was no doubt in my mind that she is related to Oscar the Grouch. Within seconds of her waking up in the morning she blended right in to the outdoor decor. Kael was very much in his element. I cant even explain to you how much this kid loves being outsite. The whole process of camping is amazing to him and he is already whining on when he can go again!

On Sunday we decided to take a venture to Dickson Dam in Glennifer Lake. The biggest adventure of the day was just finding the place! We were pretty much led on a wild goose chase and over an hour later, we found it....only 30kms from where we started. Haha. We didnt stick around long cause it was pretty cold and windy, but we did manage to sneak in some Fishing! Kael got some lessons from Clayton, Beths husband, and his Brother Chase and Naveah got her lessons from Summerlyn!

It really was such a fun weekend and I cant wait to take the kids again!
