So many Blogs....NO Time!!!

Well its just been so darn busy. Where do I start? This summer is flying by with excitement. I have to say its one of my favorite summers so far. Kael is at such a fun age and Naveah is full of enthusiasm. Shes up for whatever we got for her.

Since the last time I wrote there has been many more Sikome Lake days and Zoo trips. Im so glad I bought a pass for the zoo. I also bought a guest pass so that I could bring a friend along with me for free everytime. We've gone with Daddy, Chelsea and Julie and all their kiddies, Tricia, Trina, and even a long lost friend Christina! Kael gets really excited now when we go to the zoo cause last time we went with Daddy we let Kael go on the Choo Choo Train. Now everytime we are there all he says says is "choo choo train ride? choo choo train ride?". Occationally he'll even throw in a "peeze?". Melts my heart. Whats more cute with Kael and the Zoo is that he doesnt really pay much attention to the animals unless you make a point to ask him which ones they are. Hes more interested in all the tractors and bobcats that are there because one of their exhibits is under construction. So when we pull into the parking lot of the Zoo Kael knows right away the things he is going to see. "Choo choo train? TRACTER!"

Our Miss Naveah has me on my tippy toes. Man has she been busy lately. If shes not crying, shes getting into something she shouldnt, and if shes not doing that shes crying again. Or whining or screaming or just making a whole ton of noise. Shes babbling up a storm these days and its so cute to watch her imitate people around her. This little one has no fear. Shed run fulled fledged down the stairs if I let her! She loves playing in the sand at the beach and splashing in the water. She loves animals and its eager to pet all of them. She loves to show us everything she is discovering with her little finger always pointing at something. She loves her brother so much and it makes me smile whenever I hear them giggling together every morning when they wake up and throughout the day.

So our adventures do involve more than Sikome Lake and the Zoo! One of our FHE's involved us making a mess with paint. I rolled out some paper on the floor, filled up some bowls with paint and let the kids have at'er! Man were they covered...and me too! Evan was busy just watching and taking pics but he still had fun. The painting lasted only a total of 10 minutes before the kids took off and started running around the house leaving little colored feet prints everywhere. Luckily it was kids washable paints!

We've also had fun just playing in the backyard in the splash pool and going to the parks. I took the kids to one of their friends birthday parties and they had tons of fun. One of the highlights of this month was getting to take Kael to the Air Show in Lethbridge. Wow did he ever have fun. Every couple seconds it was "airpwane!!!" Naveah had a pretty good time too as she is just as interested in everything Kael is interested in. We also got to take them on a Monster truck ride and Kael got to hold a huge gun (with a little help of course). After the show we took the kids down to Magrath to visit their cousins Keira, Anika and Traver. They had fun all running around the yard and playing in the dirt and stuff. It was there that Kael got his first real bug bite! Suddenly Kael started screaming and reaching for his leg. I thought it was a bee at first but wasnt sure so I asked him "was it a bee? or an ant?" he didnt answer at first but then he started saying "owwy ant, Owwy ant!" and pointing at his calf. It only stayed puffy for the night. But he still to this day is talking about the "owwy ant". Even though his bite has long since healed.

We have also been back to Heritage park with the Sheers (Chelsea, Corbin and Berkley). The boys had fun riding the train that was there. Thats mostly why we went there. Kael had been asking me for a while to go on a choo choo train ride.

Well just this past weekend we spent 4 days camping near Bragg Creek. It was a lot of work but it was a lot of fun. We went with Evans parents and it was totally spontaneous. I had one day to get ready for it. Suzanne and I headed out early Thursday to get a campsite. It was the long weekend so it would be busy. Then Evan and Tom came after work. What an entertaining time. The first night be got rained out. Everything was soaked and it wasnt a very 'comfy' night to say the least. The sun came beaming down in the morning though and stayed that way the rest of the weekend. The kids had SO much fun. They explored the entire campsite and when they became bored of it, they tried to explore a little further. We went for many walks along the river and through the campground, made yummy camping meals, searched for dinosaur bones, chopped wood and at times we even sat and did NOTHING! Well, the adults did. Kael and Naveah had better things in mind. What made this trip funner than the others was that we got to take Kael fishing for the first time! It kept his interest for a while, but he just wanted to keep reeling it in. After getting frustrated with Daddy for telling him to just 'watch the bobber and dont reel it in so we can catch a fish" he started to pay to other things...like the "TIRE!!!" in the middle of the pond (dont ask me why it was just there). Then it was the "booat!", "wroks", "sick", and of course "dio-sore cone"(dino bone). What an adventure Naveah was having in such a new environment. She has been camping twice before this. Once when she was only 8weeks old and then the other time was for this past Canada Day. But this time she was way more into it. She looked so cute wondering around the site squatting down with her hands on her knees to get a better look at the bug crawling through the dirt. She examined rocks-and then ate them. Expored the charcoly firepit and a couple times tried to tackle the tent (the tent won) She also seemed to have gotten in a scrap with the firewood cause there is a pretty nasty bruise on her cheek to show for it. I loved watching the kids help Daddy with the firewood. Evan would chop it and then the kids came rushing in the help stack, well throw, it in a pile by the pit. I wish would could have stayed longer but was very glad I didnt. That very night we got home we had one of the BEST thunder storms since I moved to Alberta. The kids slept through it, thank goodness. But WOW! had we been CAMPING! we'd have been looking for our ruby slippers that morning.

Well that ALMOST sums it up. But its already taken me 4 days to get this thing written and dont have much more time to do it. We leave on Vacation to Kelowna, Vancouver and Victoria in 5 more sleeps and will be gone for 2 weeks. Its a much needed break. I cant wait to hit the beach!!!!
