Planes, Trains and Automobiles...

Again this isnt a week I cant complain too much about. Its been a thrilling day everyday. On Monday we decided to stay in and have a Pajama Party! We stayed in our jammies all day and watched movies and just vegged out. Then Tueday it was a spontanious trip to the Zoo with The Sheers and the Wilsons! We finally ventured into the Dinosaur park! I had never taken Kael there yet and Ill for sure be taking him back there. He LOVED it. He had fun with all the kids throwing sticks and leaves, climbing all over, and running around the paths. Berkley got first prize for the highlight of the day when Chelsea about had a heart attack when she turned around Berkley wasnt in her seat. instead she was hanging out in the basket hanging underneath the stroller! Litte stinker.I had fun walking along side Libby as she was looking for Dinosaurs. "I see one I see one!!!" she would yell. So Id say "you see one!? youd better sneak up so he doesnt hear you and run away!", to which she proceeded to creep along on her tippy toes with her arms tucked up at her side hoping not to make a sound. So cute!
We had a entertaining picnic lunch there. Juice, cheese, peanut butter and chocolate was smothered all over everyone by the time we were done. Kael and Corbin had fun running in circles, walking all over the nice plants in the garden and occationally diggin a few of them out. The day ended perfectly with a little sprinkle of rain to cool us all down.

On wednesday Chelsea and I took another spontaneous trip to Nanton! We've been threatening to take Kael and Corbin there for a while now so they can go see the Airplanes and the Air Museum and Wednesday seemed to be the perfect day to do it. When we got there we first had a picnic in the park and then let the boys play on the playground for a bit then we headed over to the museum. It was hard to contain them. The were going nuts over the trucks and Airplanes. Thank goodness there was a couple planes they were able to climb into and play with all the switches. Most of the displays were roped off and it was hard for the boys to understand why they couldnt go in "disun?" (as Kael would say when he wants 'this one'.) After the planes we wanted to go and check out the "Garden Railway". Its a playground/display of trains and they would have loved it. However the lady was going to charge all of us, even Naveah and Berkley!, to go in a see it and it was a little rediculous. I mean, the only ones playing would have been Corbing and Kael! Luckily there was a train out front they were able to climb around on for a few minutes. To make up for it we took them to the Candy Store. Nothing better then ending the trip by pounding them full of sugar right? Kael and Corbin got matching Hot Wheels cars with car candy inside we got Naveah and Berkley matching 'soothers'. What a fun day!

Jaclyn came over on thursday with her girls Erica and Emily. (Emily was the little baby I made those mini dresses for). Jaclyn is moving this Wednesday so ive been trying to get some time in with her before she goes. We just hung out while Ice Age played in the background in hopes to distract the kids then had some lunch. It ended up being twice the busy day for me cause all at the same time I was on and off the phone making arrangements with the bank and Mastercard so we could purchase a new vehicle! I had actually been on the phone since 8:30am and I was exhausted by 10:30am. But all ended up well. We had fun hanging out with Jaclyn and her kids and I was able to buy my new car. We had only looked at it the night before and decided to go for it. By thursday evening I was the proud owner of a Dodge Durango! nice. I cant wait to take this thing camping.

On Friday I was up early and even got the kids out of the house by 9am! Havent done that in a while. We headed over to my friend Dee's house to show off the new car and see if her and Dawsyn wanted to go "cruis'n". We basically drove around aimlessly for a while before we just decided to drive south and we ended up at the Saskatoon Farm just past Okotoks. We just got out there to stretch or legs and let the kids run around and chase the roosters and see the Pot Belly Pig "Daisy". Later on in the Evening I took the kids over to Nanny and Papas house to surprise them then we went out for Ice cream....Whoa what a week!

I love Summer and getting out of the house. After being couped up so long in the house for winter it feels so good to just go somewhere and have fun in the sun. And the kids have so much fun too. Heres to Summer!

Fathers Day Fun

The kids slept in on Fathers Day.....and extra 20 minutes. It was wonderful. We didnt do a whole lot yesturday. I wanted to try and keep it as relaxing as I could for Evan so I suggested we head over to his parents house. Evan cant relax at home very well so I had to get him out of here or else we both would have gone crazy. So Kael gave Daddy his fathers day presents (a 'optimus prime' painted by Kael and a "father' picture I made)then after making some blueberry Eggos for Breakfast we got ready and headed over to Tom and Suzannes. The kids always have fun at their place running around in the back yard and playing with all the toys they have. We basically stayed there until it was time to head over to Nanny and Papas house for Fathers Day Dinner. They have a gathering every year. The kids had fun sucking up all the attention they were getting. Naveah looked so cute in her new outfit I made her and Kael was off busy 'fixing' things. He found a screw driver in the yard somewhere and was going around 'fixing' everyones chair and then some toy trucks he was playing with. Naveah stayed busy playing with the garden ornaments and flowers. Later on we took the Kael to the park across the street. He was having loads of fun. After that it was back to the house for cake (even the half that fell on the ground, mmmmm). When we got home it was time for the kids to go to bed then Evan and I had movie night.
Im so glad to have a husband that does so much for our family. The kids absolutely adore him and I love seeing the way they light up when he gets home from work. After weekends its hard for Kael because come Monday when its time for Ev to go back to work, he goes running into our bedroom and says "Daddy? Daddy?". After not getting a response from him he then says..."Daddy, work?". Its a little crushing. Naveah also is sad when Daddy goes back to work. I usually bring her into bed with me in the mornings cause she wakes up before Kael. If she thinks Daddy is there she keeps popping her head up and looking at where he would be. Then she looks at me like 'where is he?". Thank You Evan for being such a great Father.
Happy Fathers Day too; Dad, Charles, Great Grampa S, Pops, and Great Papa C.

Loving Every Second

What a fantastic week and weekend this has been. I couldnt have asked for a better week. The sun was shining,(quite fiercly some days). We went for walks, we went to the zoo, we went to the park, to a birthday party, we went to hertiage park and we even got the fly a kite! (Kael and Naveahs first time!). We have spend almost the entire 7 days out of the house. In between the outings ive been keeping myself busy with birthday presents and fathers day presents, cleaning the house and squeezing in time to watch a movie or two with Evan.
I got to watch Dawsyn one day this week and rather than staying in the house I decided to take them out to the park by the house. Before we left I had put Naveahs hair in pigtails (way too cute) and so Dawsyn wanted me to put them in her hair too. Kael of course could care less, he was already half way down the sidewalk! I only wish I had remembered to pack my camera cause it was the cutest thing youd ever see once they were all piled into the wagon. Its a two seater and Dawsyn wanted to ride in it too. So there we were. Naveah in one seat, Kael in the other, and Dawsyn sitting down in the middle leaning back against Kael and kicking her feet up on Naveah. 'Heaven' was written all over her face. We met up with a neighbor of mine at the park and played with her kids for a little while then it was time for a tasty treat. We piled them back into the wagon and went and got some slurpees. The Kael and Dawsyn both hadnt napped that day so I pounded them full of pure sugar....oh the burn out was wonderful. In bed at 7:45pm...asleep at 7:47pm. Nice.

The next day I took them for another walk to a new park. Another one of my neighbors (literally right next door) told me about a park by the ridge in douglasdale so I thought we should check it out. There was a digger there that Kael would have played with the entire time but it was too big for him. We ended that day off with a cool down in the tide pool!

So now its Friday and looking like a good day to go to the Zoo! Taking the kids to the zoo this time was extra specially fun cause Nana got to come with us. Shes been looking forward to coming with us for a long time now. He had lots of fun running around with her showing her all the things hes learned from the zoo. It was a fantastic day to go to the zoo too because the animals were super active! Ive never seen this much action at the zoo ever! The monkeys were indulging in the attention from people at the windows. Swinging across vines and making funny faces at the kids. The were face to face sometimes! Kael was hysterical, in a good way. I thought this kid was gunna pass out he was laughing so hard! The Black bear was also out and about. Ive never seen him do anything but sleep. He was passing in his den coming right up close to the window! Kael was sitting in his wagon just yelling "BEEERRRR, BEEEERRR!!!". There were a ton of peacocks out. And where ever there was a male, there was a female close by with their little babies guiding them through the crowds. We even got to see the Lions move....to their OTHER sleeping patch to which they layed down in the tall grass never to be seen again. We ended the day with a gigantic ice cream cone.

It was Cosette's birthday on Saturday so we headed to her birthday party that afternoon. Kael had fun playing with all the kids and Naveah was having fun seeing who she could wrap around her little fingers. Once Kaels spotted the sand pit though it was all over. He spent the entire night in that sandpit. It was so fun watching him play in there. Looks like im gunna have to hurry up and set ours up!

Today we went to heritage park. Evan Aunt had bought us seasons passes for Christmas and I thought it was time to take advantage. First we went for a ride on the Steam Engine where we were dropped off at the boat and took a little cruise around the reserviore. Kael and Naveah both loved the boat. When we got back we hopped back onto the train to go to the first station to pick up our stroller then headed off to the rides! Kael had so much fun on the rides! I wish there were more of them. Even Naveah got to go on the merry-go-round. She had a permanent grin on her face once the horse she was sitting on started moving. The only bad part of the rides was the ferris wheel. I thought It would be a fun one to take Kael on, so Evan stayed with Naveah and I took him on the ride. He was enjoying it at first, but then it was taking so long to load all the seats that he just wanted off. "all done" he kept saying. By the time the ride FINALLY got started he wasnt in the best mood. He started whining a little when the ride was going down. We didnt even make it around twice before they just stopped the ride, unlocked the cross bar and gestured for us to get off. "I take it were done then?" I said as I helped Kael hop off. "oh well he was crying so I thought he wanted off." She says back to me. I quickly explained that he wasnt crying, it was a whimper he was just unsure of what was happening. So then she tries to tell me to get back on the ride but by this point Kael was half way to Daddy and I was a little ticked. I mean seriously! The ride hadnt even been going for 3 seconds and he whimpered, WHIMPERD! All I had to do was tell him that its okay and he would have been fine but I didnt even get a chance to get the words out before the ride came to a halt! gr. But thats okay, we still had a fun day. After that we just walked around and looked at the chickens and the roosters then headed home. It was still early when we finished dinner so Evan wanted to go to the park and fly some kites I bought for Kael a little while ago. We loaded them up in the wagon and headed to the school yard just down the street. What an awesome park! I cant wait to take them there again! Theres a spaceship and 'rock climbing' walls. Theres even this thing that has little cars inside that you can race! While Kael was off playing Evan and I set up the kites and got them up and going. Naveah kept pointing at them and shrieking. She thought they were pretty cool. It was hard to get Kael away from the playground to fly the kites but we finally did and he loved it. After that we headed back home and cooled off with some creamsicles. Yum.

What a fun weekend. I love the summer there is so much to do! Kael loves to be outdoors and Naveah is pretty much up for everything. I cant wait to start another week like this.

Some Projects.

Just thought Id share some more of my little projects that ive been working on. There are lots of birthdays this month so ive been busy putting gifts together. I sometimes get a quilty feeling when I buy a gift for someone. I feel so much better giving someone something that I made expecially for them.....and I think those someones do too. :)

These dresses are reversable. The first 2 pics are one dress, showing both ways.

The 3rd and 4th pic are the next dress. I will be changing the neck on it to the same one that is on the first dress. I decided I dont like the ribbon.

This is a picture I made for Cosette's 3rd Birthday. Cosette is Kaels second cousin from Evans side of the family. If you dont "get it" right away, the picture says her name. I took pics of close ups of just random things to spell her name. I think it turned out awesome!
